a song I have listened to a thousand times the Killers, "Smile Like You Mean It" but I don't think they meant this perpetually, I think of skulls who can't help but smile Yorick cradled in Hamlet's soft hands the hardest labor he ever did was digging up Yorick's head and when the bones rose up from the valley at a word from Ezekiel's mouth they also grew sinew and when he commanded them to breathe they drew one great breath an army of men who were bones but then they also make me laugh dancing to bouncy Halloween music rattling about chasing Scooby-doo and Shaggy to the soundtrack of my squeals of delight when death comes, I suppose I'll think of soft hands and dry valleys of bones and how death, with his rictus smile, reminds me of that Scooby-doo villain and I'll think, 'oh, but you're just a door, aren't you?' and death will just become a valley where God commanded me to life and then, I'll smile like I mean it my teeth pure white in my skull
